Here is the fourth of four photos from the "Long Island Rail Road" series. Photo Caption: "Twenty-one huge 2,000-hp Alco Century type passenger locomotives like this began coming to the LIRR in late 1963 to modernize its diesel fleet." Shown here is LIRR engine #200, a C420 built by the American Locomotive in December of 1963 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.
